I’ve worked with students from different backgrounds, contexts, and levels. I have experience in in-person education in Brazil and the US and online with students from several countries,from middle schoolers to researchers.

Starting in 2015, I’ve worked as an academic writing tutor in the US and taught Portuguese, English, Brazilian literature, and American literature in-person in Brazil and online to students of different origins. Since 2022, I’ve been working as an online instructor of Portuguese, English, and literature to students with very different goals. My Portuguese students have goals such as speaking with their partner’s family, using the language at work, taking a PhD proficiency exam, conducting research in Portuguese, traveling to Brazil, or resuming their studies after some time. Regarding English, many want to study the language to use it in the workplace, travel on business or holiday, take proficiency tests, go back to studying it, or even start from scratch.

Besides teaching, I also have more than a decade of experience with academic research, having presented and published papers in different symposia and journals from Brazil, the US, and the UK. As a researcher, I’ve specialized in literatures in English and gender studies. Documenting Diversity and Democracy in Brazil, which took place in 2021 at the University of Miami, is among the events I’ve organized.
